Chiropractic Adjustment

First off, what is Chiropractic? Chiropractic is a form of non-surgical medical intervention that specializes in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions by utilizing different techniques through chiropractic adjustments. A chiropractic adjustment is a technique in which a light force is applied into a joint that may be fixated or “stuck” in order to restore normal motion back into that specific joint. Chiropractic adjustments have proven to be safe and effective forms of treatment in various musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain and sciatica, neck and upper back pain, disc herniations, amongst others.

Graston / Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Graston technique is a form of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) that is used to treat soft tissue conditions by breaking up scar tissue and adhesions within the musculature. The goal of performing Graston to an area is to promote an inflammatory response which in turn will facilitate a quicker healing process to occur. This technique has proven to accelerate recovery time, improve range of motion, and restore normal function.

Cupping

Cupping is another therapy that we utilize in order to promote quicker healing processes to occur by facilitating an inflammatory response to a certain area. Cupping has shown to be an effective form of treatment in those experiencing acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain by decreasing overall inflammation, decreasing muscle tension and increasing blood flow to the particular area.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling can be utilized when someone is experiencing muscular pain and/or has trigger points. Trigger points are hyperirritable bands of muscle fibers within the skeletal muscle. They can often times be the result of acute trauma, stress, or be the consequence of repetitive motions through normal daily activities. When performing Dry Needling, small single-use filiform needles are inserted into the muscle in order to relieve tension and help release the trigger point. Dry Needling has shown to reduce muscle tension, improve range of motion, and improve pain control.

Normatec Compression Therapy

Normatec was created by a physician bioengineer (MD, PhD) with the goal to enhance blood flow and speed up recovery time. Normatec has been at the forefront of compression therapy products and is used by professional athletes all over the world. Normatec’s patented pulse technology helps athletes recover faster by using compressed air to massage limbs, mobilize fluid, and increase circulation.

Instead of using static compression (squeezing), Normatec uses Sequential Pulse Technology which utilizes dynamic compression (pulsing) in order to transport fluid out of the limbs. By utilizing a pulsing rhythm, this mimics the normal movement of muscle which proves to be more effective in recovery.

Our veins and lymphatic vessels have one-way valves that help prevent the backflow of fluid in our bodies. Normatec technology functions similarly in a way by holding pressures to keep fluids from being forced in the wrong direction. This ensures that there is a constant circulation of fluid throughout the limb during recovery.

Because prolonged static pressure can be severely detrimental to our bodies normal circulatory process, Sequential Pulse Technology releases the hold pressures in each zone progressively. By releasing the hold pressure in each zone, maximal rest time is achieved.
